What Provamar records, what we can see, and what you control. Written plainly, because two people have already had to explain it to their boss.
It is your data
Everything you record — water checks, mortalities, treatments, harvests, documents — belongs to your organisation. You can export it at any time, and you can ask us to delete it. Leaving does not mean losing your records.
Where it is stored
In a database, because the product cannot work otherwise — an app that forgets your withholding periods is worse than no app. Records are stored in the EU (Supabase, EU Central) and are scoped to your organisation, so another farm cannot read them.
Three different things people mean by “do you see our data?”
These get muddled, so here they are separately. They are separate in the software too, not just in this description.
1. How the app is used
We record which screens you open, how long tasks take, errors, and Ask Luna interactions. We do NOT record the content of your farm records this way. This is what the beta consent covers, and it is how we find what is slow or confusing without interrupting you to ask.
2. The content of your records
Not used for anything beyond running your account, unless you switch on peer benchmarking. That setting is OFF unless you turn it on, and when it is on your figures are combined with other farms so no single farm can be identified. You can turn it off again and your contribution is withdrawn.
3. Support access
If you ask us to look at a problem, our staff can open your account in a read-only view. Every one of those sessions is written to your audit trail — the same tamper-evident log an auditor reads. You can see when we looked, and so can they.
Research, honestly
We would like to learn from aggregated farm data to make the product better and to publish industry benchmarks. That is exactly what the opt-in peer benchmarking setting is for. We do not sell your data and we do not share identifiable records with anyone.
Does it work on a phone and a PC?
Both. Provamar is a web app you can install on a phone like a normal app, and it keeps working when the signal drops on the far side of a site — captures are stored on the device and sync when you are back in range.
What you can do right now
- Export your records at any time, in formats you can open elsewhere.
- Ask for deletion; we act on it.
- Turn peer benchmarking on or off in Settings. Off by default.
- Read your own audit trail, including every support session.
